Serve Detroit was developed for City Year Detroit's annual MLK Day of Service in 2009. The day of service involves coordinating hundreds of volunteers across dozens of sites. Serve Detroit allowed the City Year staff to manage the event in a fraction of the time and devote staff capacity to other tasks.
